Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga as exercise with asanas that are held for longer periods of time—for beginners, it may range from 45 seconds to two minutes; more advanced practitioners may stay in one asana for five minutes or more.
In 2007, Kate started attending yoga with coworkers as they were looking for a good workout and outlet for stress relief while working on Capitol Hill in DC. After a few classes at a variety of different studios and different formats, Kate was hooked! This led to a long yoga journey since that helped guide her through overcoming injuries and health challenges with yoga as a tool for wellness and recovery.
While living in Chicago in 2016, Kate completed her 200 hour RYT yoga teacher training at CorePower Yoga focusing on power and hot yoga formats. Since then, she has immersed herself in studying restorative yoga formats like yin and methods of leveraging yoga for health and wellness.
Kate is a firm believer that there is no such thing as a perfect yoga pose or perfect yoga body, that we can all embrace safe versions of poses but that our bodies change with each practice and that the perfect pose is going to be what feels right for your body at that moment. Join her classes to explore your own practice and different variations of poses or modifications to best accommodate where you are in your journey - or where you maybe just that day!
All of Kate's classes are open for all levels and experience as she will offer options for all backgrounds to enjoy. She also has a strong love of music and enjoying tunes for class as well as celebrating one another's journey with yoga.
Join us outside in our covered space for some autumn yoga! Embrace the sunset and cooler waves of air as we work through a yoga session for all levels! The class will work through a standing flow series and as the sunsets around us, we will be surrounded by candlelight and will ease onto our mats for a series of poses focusing on the spine, hips and restorative poses. Ensure that you get rid of any lingering case of the Mondays with this fun class and celebration of fall.
Jessica graduated from The Yoga and Ayurveda Center’s 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2020. Her yoga journey began in college at the University of West Georgia, but she truly fell in love with her practice while she was living in Chattanooga, Tennessee and attending an amazing studio there. Jessica's yoga philosophy is that yoga is for everybody, and it is a deeply healing practice that can be enjoyed by anyone regardless of physical abilities. Too often , she hears something like, “Oh, I’m not flexible enough for that,” or “I can’t even touch my toes,” but in fact, physical poses are only one of the eight limbs of yoga. It’s so much more than touching your toes! While Jessica loves a good power yoga flow, she really enjoys the mental benefits of a slow, restorative class too, and she hopes to open others to all the possibilities of a balanced yoga experience.
Jessica's Vinyasa Flow class is a beginner to intermediate class focusing on balancing the body and mind. The class will be held under the front terrace. It is highly recommended that you bring your mat.

This isn't just a class, it is a fun experience to feel into your inner child! It is designed for parents and children ages 3-6, though can be enjoyed by any age. We will be moving through a series of asanas (physical postures), songs, dance, stories, and uplifting themes. Through these activities, parents and children connect with each other and themselves while letting go and having fun. Movement and music fosters self-esteem, body awareness, social connectivity, motor skills, expressing emotions, and integrates physical, cognitive, social and emotional well-being.
When our inner worlds, physical and nonphysical, become stagnant, we can feel stuck. We can have the habit of holding onto things that then remain in our system and clouds our perception and self-esteem. Through movement, breath, asana (physical postures), music/sound, and mediation, we allow ourselves to feel, heal, and release. This allows our life force to flow! As we let go of limiting beliefs, judgements, and old energy, we align with our innate power, creativity, abundance, light, and love. Each class is an inner exploration that is an opportunity to become more aware of what is holding us back and to reclaim our power. This is a gentle, yet powerful practice that fosters peace, regeneration, clarity and self-awareness.
