We not only have one licensed professional counselor, but we have two! Each of our licensed professional counselors offer a different counseling approach to help you be the best you, you can be.
Amy Gilbert, one of our licensed professional counselors, has a gentle, but firm approach to psychotherapy, which aims to help the client detach from their suffering, promote healing, be more present, and connect to their authentic self to reach their full potential. Amy works closely with her clients to design unique treatment plans specific to their needs and goals. Her focus is to create a healthy therapeutic relationship with her clients to promote positive change and growth in a safe environment. Amy incorporates Humanistic, Existential, Mindfulness, Adlerian, and Cognitive Behavioral approaches to therapy.
Janet (Jay) Warrington, our other licensed professional counselor on site, understands that our past experiences, trauma, society, intrusive thoughts, and media tell us who we should be, but often, we feel that inside, we don’t fit that mold. Experiencing the world as someone who isn’t certain who we are and who we want to be can feel overwhelming or disheartening. It can worsen loneliness, anxiety, and depression and leave us unable to feel confident enough to interact with those we love. It can also prevent us from meeting or choosing healthy individuals who contribute positively to our lives. As a result, it is Jay's goal to provide services that are rooted in non-judgmental acceptance, kindness, and respect. It is her goal to provide an eclectic, open-minded approach that is unique for every client’s individual needs, combining education, improved coping strategies, and understanding the root causes of maladaptive thinking.
