Yin Yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body - the tendons, fascia, and ligaments - with the goal of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. Even though Yin Yoga is a more meditative approach to yoga, its goals are awareness of inner silence and bringing to light any stagnation in the energetic/physical body.

Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation also known as "yogic sleep" or "effortless relaxation." It's usually practiced lying down with a teacher guiding the session. The practice draws our attention inwards, and we learn to surf between the states of wakefulness and sleep, where our bodies find its natural state of equilibrium (homeostasis) - the breath balances and becomes quiet, unconscious and conscious aspects of the mind reveal themselves, and we fall into an innate state of deep, blissful awareness.

Mindful journaling is the act of expressively examining what is in your head and in your heart. Mindful journaling is meditative writing. It is asking yourself why you feel a certain way (anger, happiness, frustration, love) and then letting it go out of your head and onto the paper. We will use all sorts of tools to create a journal full of words, art, and doodles—however you wish to express the theme for the class. We will start off the class with some breathing. We will then go into meditation, and we will finish the class with some journaling. It is Jenni-Lyn’s goal to create a safe space for all to express themselves however they would like.

Duration: 90 minutes
These classes are centered around embodiment and feeling into somatic wisdom. These classes will be a bit different than your typical yoga class as asana will not be the primary focus, but rather it will be used to support and encourage the process of feeling into the body and the emotions. Cody will be there to encourage and support you to feel into the depths of your being. For many people, it is rare that they feel supported to feel all of their emotions, especially the ones they have been told are somehow wrong. Cody will be there to gently support that process of healing, so that a deeper sense of ease and clarity can emerge.
If you want a yoga class that feels like an escape, then this may not be the one for you. In these classes, you will be moving in and through the body, welcoming sensations as they arise, and allowing yourself to access your own inner guidance. You will learn together how to tune in and listen more deeply to the wisdom of your body. Cody may suggest sounds, movements, or breathing techniques that inspire feeling and encourage energy (inner chi) to move through you. Other times, it may be more beneficial to have a deeply aligned group conversation to open up the flow and create a sense of safety and ease.
The core intention of Cody’s work is to meet people right where they are in their journey. Cody will use his experience working with others and intuitive guidance to provide you with a map of feeling into the emotions in a healthy way. He will not be there to change or fix you. You are not broken. Cody is there to listen and provide a mirror, so that you can experience the magic of your own inner guidance coming forth. In these classes, you won’t be looking to transcend or bypass anything. As a group, you will go into the depths, so that you can come back with a deeper sense of acceptance, compassion, understanding, and confidence. What’s the point of having a light to shine if you never go into the darkness where it’s needed?
